The Eighth Annual Bill Knope Memorial Golf Outing & Dinner

It was a pleasure to see all the familiar faces of family and friends as well as some new ones, who came out to Sylvan Glen and played in the eighth annual "Billy Open" on September 27. With over 110 participatants, it was a great day out on the course and Camp Ticonderoga outdid themselves with a fantastic dinner and the excellent service of their staff. As always, our supporters were exceptionally generous and we were thrilled to gain some new ones. By all accounts everyone had a good time and we were able to raise a few pennies for the kids we care so much about.

We were especially happy to see Gary Kirkey, a dear friend dating back to high-school for many of us--including Billy--who, against all medical odds, made the trip from Florida, played eighteen holes of golf and was among the last to leave the restaurant that evening. We were all moved by his courage and sheer determination to be there and will cherish our memories of that day. He reminded us all of the importance of friendship.

Sadly, Gary died on October 19, 2008. Our deepest condolences to his children, family and friends.
